How to Adjust the Bleed Device on a 2” ASCO Valve
Issue: Sometimes the Preblast and Dual/Tripple Threat nozzles will still spray water for a few seconds after the ASCO Valve is closed. We can adjust how fast or slow the ASCO Valve will close and open by adjusting the Bleed Device on the ASCO Valve.
The ASCO Valve has an integral adjustable bleed device for controlling the opening and closing speed of the piston. The ASCO Valve is set from the factory to provide quick shockless closing for most applications.
If faster or slower closing is required, the bleed device can be adjusted.
The Bleed Device is circled above in Red
Items needed:
- Small Screw Driver
Procedure:
- Turn the Metering pin in (Clockwise) as far as possible without overtightening it.
- Back out the metering pin (Counterclockwise) 2 complete rotations
- The Bleed Device is now ready for adjustment.
- Turn the metering pin clockwise for slower closing.
- Turn the metering pin counterclockwise for faster closing.
