Issue: If cleaning and rebuilding an ASCO Valve does not resolve the issue with it, it might be necessary to replace one of the ASCO Valve on the All-In-One Pump station.
Only replace one ASCO Valve at a time to keep the Coil Cables going to the correct Valve.
Items needed:
• Pipe wrench
• Plumber Tape or Teflon Tape.
• A Steel Brush
Parts Needed:
• 2” ASCO Solenoid Valve 2-way Normal Closes – P-WAT-2479
Procedure:
- Press in a wash stop.
- Turn off reclaim at the reclaim HMI.
- Command HPP1, HPP2, Belt flush, and Preblast pump OFF on GWC HMI.
- Locate the ball valve running from the reject tank to the All-In-One Pump station and close that valve.
- You should then be OK to remove the ASCO valve and replace it as we have isolated water to the valve.
- Remove the Coil Plug
- Use the pipe wrench to loosen the water supply hose fitting on the ASCO Valve.
- Use the pipe wrench to loosen the ASCO Valve from the All-in-One Station.
- Clean the fittings with the steel brush.
- Apply Plumbers tape to the fittings to prevent leaks.
- Excess Plumber’s tape or Teflon tape can cause the ASCO Valve to become stuck in either the OPEN or Closed position.
- Do not apply any plumber’s paste to the inside of the ASCO Valve.
- Reinstall the ASCO Valve on the All-in-One station.
- ASCO Valves flow in one direction. There is an arrow pointing in the direction of flow.
- The Flow of water goes from the Reclaim System to the All-in-One Pump station.
- Make sure that the ASCO Valve’s Coil is pointed upwards at a 90-degree angle.
- This will help prevent sediment from the Reclaim system from settling in the diaphragm.
- DO NOT USE THE COIL and SHAFT TO SCREW THE VALVE ON THE PIPE. DAMAGE MAY OCCUR!
- Reconnect the Coil Plug.
- Reconnect the water supply hose to the ASCO Valve.
- Locate the ball valve running from the reject tank to the All-In-One Pump station and open the valve.
- Command HPP1, HPP2, Belt flush, and Preblast pump to AUTO on GWC HMI.
- Turn the reclaim back to AUTO at the reclaim HMI.
- Pull out a wash stop.
- Test the ASCO Valve.
