VEHICLE POSITION SENSOR
CCS-SC950A100
What is the Vehicle Position Sensor:
The Vehicle Position Sensor is used to determine when the vehicle first lands on the belt and is used as an input to the PLC to change the entrance module screen and signal the voice commander to say “Please place the car in neutral”
How Does it Work:
The sensor is an ultrasonic proximity sensor, that means it sends out a high frequency sound pulse and then times how long it takes for the echo of the sound to reflect, the longer it takes the farther away the object is.
Helpful Information:
Make sure the sensor stays clean and dry as often as possible, water on top of the sensor can blocked the ultrasonic waves from transmitting properly. Often tilting the sensor on a slight angle will help with keeping the sensor dry.
Banner Emitter and Receiver
Emitter 71559 (Upper)
Receiver 71740 (Lower)
It is important to ensure proper alignment of the Emitter and Receiver. We recommend a signal strength of 3. This can be seen on the back of Receiver which is located in the pit grating. If there isn't a strong enough signal this could lead to problems with the voice commander not working and/or the entrance module not switching slides. Attached is a document showing a general alignment and also proper 24 Volt wiring.
Helpful Information:
Another thing to check is if there is water in the junction box.
