Wrap Assist Adjustment Guide
- The first step in making sure your air assist is set up properly is to turn off all air controls on the wraps. Release any air pressure you may have on the cylinders. Now you should set up the wraps to operate perfectly without any air being used. The brushes should follow the front sides and back of the car properly.
- If the wraps are too heavy on the car, then use the 9/16” bolts to shift the bottom bearing to the center line, tilting the arms out. (This can be done by holding up cars for a few minutes and jumping on a ladder then letting them run to see if it’s better or worse.) If the brush is too light then do the opposite, slide the bottom bearing out to make brush heavier. A wrap brush should operate perfectly without any assist / retract.
- Once the wraps work properly with natural gravity, meaning not too much pressure or too little on the car, you can begin to adjust the air on the assist cylinders.
- You should set the air assist regulators to around 10lbs. – 20lbs. Now in the wash controller you’ll want to turn this output on when the brush has completely come around the front bumper and is near the front quarter panel.
The independent air assist for each wrap allows you to adjust each one precisely. You do not want the air assist to turn on until the wrap has come around the front end naturally. Doing so will make the brush launch out very fast. Now the air assist should stay on just around the mirror and antenna area of the car. Then release near the back door / window, and then the brush should come around the backend of the car under gravity.
