This document will give step by step instructions for replacing cracked wrap bearings. This process applies to retrofitting an old coupler and installing P-M2194 (the shaft coupler). If your site is new, the coupler may be installed normally.
Steps:
Please keep in mind these steps must be followed as stated to unload the majority of the load from the set screw and put it on the coupler. This will prevent the new coupler from prematurely failing.
The following picture will be referenced in the steps below:
- First, you will need to install the new coupler on the shaft that is circled in red.
- Once the coupler has been installed you will need to loosen the set screw circled in blue.
- Following loosening the set screw you will need to retighten the coupler circled in red.
- Once the coupler has been retightened you will then need to retighten the set screw circled in blue.
